What we eat will starve or nourish cancer cells

    This was an interesting presentation. I actually use the anti-vasular endothelial growth factor, Avastin, that was mentioned earlier in the talk on a regular basis. In diabetic and wet macular degeneration patients abnormal blood vessels can grow and then leak and/or bleed in the eye. Just a few years ago it was discovered that colon cancer patients with wet macular degeneration started seeing better after they were treated with Avastin for their cancer. We now inject Avastin directly into the eye and have greatly improved vision for patients with these types of problems. It was nice to see how Avastin is used in other fields of medicine.
